Lower Dens - “Bad Brains”
I love the extended intro of this song. When I hear it out of context or purpose (like on shuffle) I keep thinking it’s some rare Electrelane B-side. Maybe not the very beginning, that rhythm isn’t quite their style, but then the guitar and droney synths creep in and make that little drop into a minor key before popping back up again and yeah… I’m convinced. Until, that is, Jana begins to sing and then I get giddy just thinking about the new Lower Dens release that will be out 5/1.
