On my leaving Brooklyn, reading Just Kids by Patti Smith, wondering about life and things.

Good news that has to do with me aka Haunted Tours.
Yunō - Disney World
This is the first song from my new side project, Yunō. It’s based off of a reoccurring dream I’ve been having about going to Disney World. The artwork also represents the dream. I’m not sure exactly what this project really is, but it’s fun.

Water Brother — “Eternal Summer”
James Folker, recently out of Tallahassee, but now Germany-hailing, couldn’t have released a more impressionable track as Water Brother. “Eternal Summer” is a collective of all good moments, almost a bridge of everything over the past 2-3 months. Nothing let go, except the long days behind us, and it’s easy to wind down to the overlay of strings & harmonies found with James’ vocals. It’s all a soothing course of melodies stringing back around; ebb & flow, eternal summer.

BRILLIANT FIND AWD. This one track has inspired me to make another Summer Jams Mix for all my friends.
The Middle East - Hunger Song
I suppose I waited too long to post this. I’m deliberately chosing to share one of the happier tunes from the excellent new album from these Queensland, Australian songsmiths despite the disappointing circumstances. Apparently the band just called it quits on their Facebook Page - not two weeks after releasing I Want that You are Always Happy. This is sad news as all premature band breakups tend to be. I certainly encourage you to go listen to their swan song - it’s haunting and still and full of grace.
Hat tip, LOUDER, she said.
JAH :D
Young & SICK — “S.E.X.X.X.”
Blogg’d ten days ago, Young & SICK have now moved their other track, “S.E.X.X.X.”, over onto the Voiceless Artists Soundcloud account. This song offers a bit more of a steamy & X-rated feel, after all I don’t think I need to point out the title of the song for you all. Though, the music behind it all is still just as crisp and smooth as “Room 48”. STREAM//LISTEN//DOWNLOAD below.

Twin Sister - In Heaven
This is the soundtrack to a film about the California plums currently on sale at my produce stand for 69 cents a pound.
YEAH BRO.
Take Your Love - Telas Da Areia
On a dim magnetic whim we made fantasy out of a night otherwise indistinct. It sounds like elasticity. Take Your Love is a Brazilian artist whose most recent release title sums up their sounds most suitably, entitled Cocktail Summer Everyday In The Night Together. The 4-track release was put out via AMDISCS about a month ago.
An assemblage of acquaintances whom neither of us felt need to make conversation with. The sunset was orange as it listened to the synths of the stereo too low to identify. With common destination of a bar whose bartender was young enough to be the acquaintances son, we got to talking while the orange of the synth sunken sunset turned blue. From there we found the pool, and let our toes skim as the synths made soundtrack to our clearing and reappearing ripples of the night.
AMAZING
Eternal Summers — Pure Affection (Beach Fossils Remix)
I post things on blogger sometimes. If you’re into it, follow/read/whatever. I think you should.
The Drums - Money
MP3: Teen Daze - The Harvest (via Stereogum)
It’s a real honour to get to have this track premiered by Stereogum, one of my favourite MP3 blogs/music news sources. It’s also really great to see the track re-posted throughout the blogosphere. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support of all you bloggers!
I’m so excited to get to share this record with all of you, and I feel like this track serves as a good example of how the sound of this record is a bit of a shift from Four More Years.
If you haven’t yet, you can pre-order the record here, and make sure to keep your eyes open for some more really cool stuff coming before the release!
Rochelle Jordan - How To Feel
I dreamt I was shot and the ceiling fell on your head. I had to call your mom and tell her that you might not wake up. The police didn’t understand how I was speaking. There’s three gunshots in my chest, one or two in my leg. I dreamt blood poured from my mouth, collapsing down the hall, tumbling down the stairs. Who shot us? Will you wake up?
Puro Instinct - “Luv Goon”
I just finished up my first listen to Headbangers In Ecstasy, and I was definitely impressed. While Ariel Pink’s role definitely influences the profile of this duo, Pink’s influence can also be seen on the music as well, creating a psychedelic vibe. I had a good feel with this record and it’s going to be one I come back to.
Gem Club — Breakers
Things sure move fast around here. When we (read: Ben) wrote about Boston’s Gem Club last July, they had just self-released their excellent Acid and Everything EP on bandcamp. Nearly a year later, they’ve landed a spot on the Hardly Art roster and prepped a full-length debut for release in late September. “Breakers” is the first taste we’re given from the record of the same name, and it flaunts a typically lovely blend of spare piano and orchestral murmurs. Breakers may be a while down the road, but these three minutes suggest the wait will be worth it.

Nowhere Nothing - Running Home
Cave in, bow so low until the incapacity of the young and incomplete is reached. Wrap it around like a scarf or veil, but let the eyes see, as they have to see the only retreat. Home. Running Home is an internal feeling song by the London artist Nowhere Nothing. Nowhere Nothing is the new moniker of the previously adored Being There.
To assume I could retreat from you is to allege I am more self-sufficient than you presumed. To falsify or hide my deficient strides seemed suiting at the time. I retreated from you until realizing you were the retreat to rectify my misconstrue. To the refuge where the blanket of scents to cover the stench is misused, the creaks croon and no windows allow peeks at the moon, to you refuse. Wilted me, home take me.

Taragana Pyjarama — “Girls”
A droned beginning, but finally picking up, we’re immediately carried off by a blended percussion & bass. It’s all static until samples begin to cloud the air. Zoning out for a moment, but a lead synth makes its way up front and, at this point, there’s no reason to try and stop soundtracking this all to various memories we have. A quicker spin on most, but it’s still very fitting and we’re as accepting as ever.
Taragana Pyjarama released his self-titled EP in early April with Fool House. With everyone’s various stance on ‘chillwave’, it’s not easy to say where the certain sound is headed. Those with slightly negative views probably hope for fewer releases, but with this release, I can’t imagine why one wouldn’t want to see a full-length out of Taragana Pyjarama.

Hard to say. Great.
unouomedude’s island summer came on and reminded how fantastic summer 2010 was.
I miss my closest friend, and now I cling to rocks and wind, it’s a precious thing we lost.
BEST ALBUM EVER MAN.
“In A Volcano” - Cross Record
Well, thanks to Jordan (Mutual Benefit), I have a pleasant little EP to carry me through this rainy day in Chicago… The short & sweet EP “Ring Bell” is by a young lady named Emily Cross, who apparently spent two weeks in Florida recording this.
… since I can’t be at the beach, I’ll just have to pretend.
Download the EP “Ring Bell” and a few other recordings at her BANDCAMP.
ARE YOU EFFING KIDDING ME? THIS IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING I’VE HEARD IN A YEAR.
DO UNICORNS EXIST?
