utnereader: (via The Guardian) While the upper-classes remain perennially interesting to publishers and readers alike, is it affluent middle-class or working-class characters who are being squeezed out of literary fiction?

Interesting article on post-9/11 Fiction.  I find it relevant to me because I’m in the process of “imagining” my second novel. Only recently have I realized that 9/11 and post-2001 America are the central events/sites/time of this book. NO ONE CARES ABOUT YOUR (LITERARY) READING →
Ok. Interesting how ‘readings’ are pronounced dead if they don’t make the bookstore any money (or if no one buys your books at the gallery space/living room/garage, etc wherever you are) when it seems like readings could better function as an introduction of sorts for mainstream readers to up and coming/young writers who don’t have books to sell/give away but will...
